This year, my main resolution is to stop missing school so much. I need to be here so I won't have any make up work I forget. I'm going to stop being a irresponsible kid and at least try to be more responsible this year. I'm going to keep things I need to do in my head, or write it on my hand. I'll keep doing little things to remember things in school and try harder.

Another resolution I have is to be more outgoing in things I like. I like to draw, so I'm going to draw more than I did last year. I also like to write, so I'll try to write a small book. I hope to make new friends, though, any where but home, I'm super quiet and distant. I also would like to practice swordplay with my father more this year. It's just that he's been sick and hurt lately.

This year, for Winter Break, I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with my grandmother and aunt. They live in Lemoore, so I'm excited to go. They have a nice house with a whole-house heater and plenty of room. They also have two "fuzzballs", two super fluffy dogs. The puppy looks like a snowball! He's that fluffy! My grandmother and aunt also have HD TVs in almost every room. They also have a Wii.

Another thing I'm looking forward to is all the cookies. No matter what, in my family, you can't have enough cookies! Or sugar. My family mostly loves sugary things, especially chocolate. I'm a chocoholic myself.

An important idea from Korea that Japanese used was the religion of Buddhism. This religion speaks of Nirvana, the state of desiring nothing. In Buddhism, you are supposed to overcome any great desire. At first the Japanese people didn't want to convert to Buddhism rather than their own religion, Shintoism. Shintoism is the belief that everything in nature is kami.

Another important idea the Japanese took from China was respect for your authorities. For example, children should obey their mother, wives should obey their husbands, subjects should obey the emperor, and so forth. The Japanese, like Confucius, the person who made this philosophy, believed that a stable and peaceful society could be achieved through this.

As I was doing my work in the fields, I heard something like thunder. I knew it wasn't a storm because the sky was blue. I turned to see the source of the sound...and saw a vast army, much bigger than I've ever seen. I was frozen for a moment, thinking of what to do. Then, my instincts took over and I ran away from the attackers. I hid for my life. I was behind a shop in town, still thinking of how I could get out of here.

I stood there, panting and searching my mind for a plan. Then, it hit me, literally. A soldier had landed a blow to my shoulder. I stumbled and took off running again, never knowing if I was going to get out of here. I dodged swords, punches, kicks, and anything else in my way to freedom. I then knew exactly where to go to. I ran towards the forest and just climbed a tree when soldiers ran through, searching for me...

In my life, I have many things to be thankful for, especially later in the year. There's my parents, friends, family, animals, technology, and music. I'm greatly thankful for my parents because my father's been in and out of the hospital all year long, and my mother's gone in once, but helped me through it. My friends all helped me keep a smile on my face and not to feel so depressed about it. My family also helped, at least the ones that didn't go to the hospital. Every holiday this year, someone's been in the hospital. I'm grateful for my dogs because they also helped me through this year. As for technology, I'm grateful to be have so much in my house. Music is practically part of my life source. I nearly live and breath it, I never go a day with out listening to something. As you can see, I have many things to thankful for, some I didn't even put.

I know that we all at least have something to be thankful for. I know that some of us don't have a home, or regular food to eat, but we can all be grateful for the people who donate. The people who volunteer is also a great thing, just think about New York! The people who volunteer and help are especially things to be grateful for, no matter what. Just what about the charities that people out all the time? And a smile? What about a laugh? These are all things that we take for granted everyday, me included. No matter what, we all have something to be thankful, grateful, appreciative, or anything else you want to say for.

My favorite thing about Fall, or Autumn, has to be the weather, closely followed by Halloween. I'm a lover of colder weather and sweatshirts and longsleeved shirts, so naturally this is my favorite time of year. My whole family all loves Halloween to at least some extent. My favorite part about Halloween has to be the costumes. I love figuring out something new. I have an affinity for ears and tails, so my mom dared me to be something without ears and a tail next year. Already have it planned, I think, it's probably going to change three billion times until next Halloween. The plan is a ninja.

Iron in Africa was a great discoever for the early civilizations that lived there, they now had a better weapon making material. The people who had the iron, and made their weapons with it, had more firepower than their enemies. Iron also helped with different things such as cooking utensils, jewelry, and various other things.

In my opinion, the desert would by the hardest place to live because it's so hot and there's hardly any water around. I would hontestly die within five mintues without an A.C. There's also the conflict of sandstorms, not such a pretty thing. I'm not cut out for this style of life, honestly.

Trade helped Islam spread by the Muslim merchants  being able to pass different things on to their customers.

Iman, Salah, Zakah, Sawm, and Hajj are the Five Pillars of Islam. Iman is faith, Salah is prayer, Zakah is donation to charity, Sawm is fasting, and Hajj is the pilgrimage to the Makkah. Sawm is most likely the hardest one because you're hungry all day and want to eat some food, but can't. I'd never make it like that.
